Welcome

The Vanuatu Hotels and Resorts Association provides a bridge between members and the tourism sector, industry partners and government agencies. We are the channel for government departments/agencies and the Vanuatu Tourism Office to disseminate information to accommodation providers and represent members in discussions with same.

Our constitution invites membership from all hotel and resort operators in Vanuatu, any other business with a valid Tourism Permit and organisations working closely with the accommodation sector. Our current membership represents operators from across the islands of Vanuatu. Smaller properties are represented through a separate organisation, the Vanuatu Island Bungalows and Tourism Association. If you are interested in applying for membership please find the form here or email The Secretary for more information.

Members of the Vanuatu Hotels & Resorts Association, by right of their contributions to the Tourism Marketing Development Fund, are entitled to representation by VTO and to participate in destinational marketing activities, campaigns and promotions. Membership of an accredited association such as VHRA is also a requirement for any business licence in a tourism category.

Our executive committee and subcommittees meet regularly to discuss and action a range of issues that affect the industry. The VHRA also represents members with positions on the board of the Vanuatu Tourism Office, Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Marketing and Development Fund (TMDF) and Hospitality Tourism Leisure Training Centre (HTLTC). VHRA are also represented on the Tok Tok Committee, Department of Tourism (DoT) Accreditation Committee, the Tourism Ambassador Programme and Vanuatu Tourism Awards Committee (VTA).

Members meet once a month (generally the 3rd Tuesday in each month) at our general meetings which are held at different member venues each time. All members are welcome and minutes are circulated promptly for those unable to attend.

For more information on accommodation within Vanuatu, please contact our members from direct link here. Or for more information on this fantastic destination we call home, contact the Vanuatu Tourism Office and discover what matters.

Becoming a member of the VHRA is easy. The membership form is self-explanatory, simply
complete and return, with the required paperwork, to The Secretary. Members are required to
comply with the Code of Ethics, which can be downloaded together with a copy of the
Constitution. There are no membership fees, but membership is conditional on ongoing
contributions to the Tourism Marketing Development Fund. The current levy is 0.5% of tourism
income; once your membership is confirmed we will provide details on how to administer and
contribute the levy each month. Accounting for the levy is the choice of each member, some
add the levy to guest accounts, others absorb in their pricing.
